On December 20, 1951, EBR 1 became the first power plant to produce useable electricity from atomic energy. On a self-guided tour, participants learn how this inoperative reactor plant operated.

The site is 18 miles east of Arco. Hours are 8:00 to 4:00 from Memorial Day through labor Day. Admission is free.
