At Sunbeam, Highway 75/26 meets Yankee Fork Road. By traveling north on this road, visitors are brought to two interesting sites. Yankee Fork Gold Dredge is 8 miles from Sunbeam. The dredge is open from 10:00 to 5:00 from Memorial day to Labor day. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under.

The Custer Museum is two miles further. Located in Custer's old schoolhouse, it contains collections from the early days of mining. The museum is open from 9:00 to 6:00 daily from mid-June to mid-September. Admission is free.
