Comprising 6,000 acres in Northeast Illinois, Chain O' Lakes State Park borders 3 natural lakes and the Fox River, which connects 7 other lakes. Pheasant and waterfowl hunting, archery, and deer hunting are allowed in season with a permit. Fishing for muskie, northern pike, largemouth bass, and other species takes place mostly from boats or piers due to the marshy nature of much of the park's shoreline.
