Georgetown is located in eastern Illinois in Vermilion County about 10 miles south of Danville along U.S. Highway 150/SR 1 seven miles from the Vermilion River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 3,442, a decrease of 236 since 1990.
Those that enjoy the outdoors will like their stay at the 1,100-acre Harry . The area is a haven for 12 state endangered or threatened species and provides habitat for 23 forest interior species. Althogh no facilities are on site, hunting, fishing and hiking are encouraged.
