Some would describe Kemper Lakes as a "monster"--but a beautiful monster, nonetheless. With water on 11 holes and over 60 bunkers, the 7,200-yard course is consistently rated among the best. Various rags have proclaimed the course to be in the Top 25 of public courses in the U.S., 12th best overall in Illinois and 4th best public in-state course. The par 72 track is rated at 75.9 with a steep 143 slope from the tips. The Blue tees cover nearly 6,700 yards and carry a 73.4 rating with 139 slope while the White tees have numbers of 6,300/71.4/133.
The course's 3 finishing holes are the talk of golfers everywhere. The 17th, the signature hole, is a semi-island hole that has appeared on lists naming the Top 125 Par 3 holes in the world. The facilty is listed as the #2 public course in the Chicagoland area.
