Lincoln Trail State Park

Within the thickly wooded land of this park in Clark County is the American Beech Woods Nature Preserve whose ravines hold a beech-maple forest as in pioneer days. Abraham Lincoln and his family passed through this area, south of Marshall in eastern Illinois, en route from Indiana to Macon County in 1830.
