Located just a few miles west of Chicago in DeKalb County, this 320-acre lake has been dubbed by locals in Shabbona as the "Musky Capital of Illinois". The State Record was caught there in 1997 measuring over 49" long and 37 pounds. Other species found in the lake include large and smallmouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, rock bass, black and white crappie, black and brown bullhead, channel catfish, walleye and perch.
Hunting is limited to an archery deer hunt and shotgunning for doves on 744 acres. Nearby Steward Habitat Area is a permit-only pheasant hunting area.
Hiking and cross-country trails stretch for 8 miles winding through wooded ares in the park.
