Spoon River

This picturesque river flows from London Mills to the south and east where it joins the Illinois River near the southeastern corner of Fulton County.

The River became famous thanks to Edgar Lee Masters, author of the highly acclaimed "Spoon River Anthology".

The spectacular beauty of fall colors throughout the Spoon River Valley prompted the organization of the "Fall Festival" and today draws more than 100,000 visitors to the Valley's 17 hamlets.
