Tinley Park, established in 1892, is located in Cook County just south of Chicago between Orland Park and Chicago Heights along Highway 6. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 45,825, an increase of 8,710 since 1990.
Of over 20 golf courses in the south Chicago area, three, including Graystone, White Mountain and Odyssey Golf Course (designed by PGA tour player Curtis Strange), are located in Tinley Park. Other recreation in town includes several miniature golf courses and hiking/biking trails in the local parks, to name just a few activities. One of the highlights of late summer is the "Autumn Fest & Parade" held on a Sunday in mid-September.
