Lutheran Hospital is a tertiary (regional) hospital and home to Lutheran Children's Hospital, as well as the only heart transplant program in northeast Indiana.
Many treatments and procedures that are readily available today were introduced, locally, at Lutheran Hospital. Their commitment to the surrounding communities drives them to continue to innovate and improve the care available in Fort Wayne.
Some of their programs include: the region's only heart transplant program (173 heart transplants have been performed at Lutheran since 1985), the Osteoporosis Prevention and Treatment Program, the Women's Cancer Center at Lutheran Hospital, the Diabetes Treatment Center at Lutheran Hospital, Generations, a program addressing the mental health of older adults, medical imaging, including PET scanning and nuclear imaging.
