In 1989, the Community Health Network opened the doors of Community Hospital South to meet the needs of the growing south side community with the vision of patient-focused medicine.
Because Greenwood and the entire south side is among the fastest growing areas in the metropolitan Indianapolis area, there is a growing need for cardiac specialty services and outpatient surgery facilities. Expanding cardiovascular services at the Community Hospital South campus is a natural extension of Community's increased commitment to cardiac care, which includes The Indiana Heart Hospital.
The Indiana Surgery Center South?s addition includes two new operating rooms, 15 new private patient rooms, a new waiting room and a new patient registration area. One of the unique features of the expansion will be the development of an interior landscaped courtyard, which will provide natural light and pleasant views.
