Founded: 1821, Pop: (2000) 364, Elev: 1821 ft. Lebanon is located in Smith County east of Smith Center and at the US-281/US-36 junction. The community is near White Rock Creek and Jewell State Lake. Just 1 mile northwest of Lebanon marks the geographical center of the 48 contiguous United States. Lebanon is in the Solomon River Drainage Basin.

Served by main line trains of the Kyle Railroad that handle freight through Lebanon provide access to major markets in four directions. Because of its central location and surrounding farmlands, Lebanon is a crossroads to the nation during hunting seasons with hunters traveling hundreds of miles to hunt Pheasant, Quail, Doves, Ducks and Deer.

The town park and chapel are available for visitors enjoyment and repose. The chapel is available for weddings.
