Milford is on the Republican River and the Union Pacific R. R. and 12 miles north of Junction City. Milford is located on Hwy 77, west of the Fort Riley Reservation and east of Milford Lake. Milford State Park is just a short distance south of the town.

The Milford Nature Center/Fish Hatchery, near the Milford Lake outlet is open for tours on weekdays (and Sunday afternoon in the summer).
