Population:584, Elevation:1182 feet. Strong City is located in Chase County, in the heart of the beautiful Flinthills on the Scenic Byway, Highway 177. The city itself is famous for its rodeo each summer. The rodeo is one of the first and largest P.R.C.A. approved rodeos in the nation. It attracts over 20,000 visitors in the first week of June and draws contestants from all over the world. The parade travels from Cottonwood Falls to Strong City, the two communities being one mile apart.

The Chase State Fishing Lake & Park and Cottonwood River are near these communities.

Heart of America Shakespeare Festival Kansas City MO June18-July7 The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival is set under the stars in South Moreland Park near Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. It is a perfect way to spend a summer evening with family and friends. They have several programs to study and explore such as Speaker's Bureau and Poster and Sonnet Contest. The faculty includes theatre professionals, actors, and educators experienced in performing and teaching Shakespeare. Many of the instructors are veterans of festival productions.
