Located off I-75, this is the original restaurant where Col. Sanders first served his world-famous fried chicken. The museum features the colonel's office and kitchen where he experimented with pressure frying and created the recipe for his fried chicken with 11 herbs and spices. KFC memorabilia and artifacts are on display. Food is available in the Colonel's original dining room which features Harland Sanders exhibits and a new state-of-the-art kitchen as well as drive-through service.
The annual World Chicken Festival is hosted at the museum in the Fall; over 25 thrill rides are featured, in addition to the World's Largest Stainless Steel Skillet, sponsored by Tyson. Tour groups are welcome, open daily except major holidays.
Driving directions: From I-75 take exit 29, go south on 25 East for one mile, right on 25 West one-half mile.
