Search Hodgenville Kentucky

Located in Hodgenville's Town Square, this highly-photographed bronze statue depicting the president with his head bowed in thought is the work of Adolph A. Weinmann, a pupil of American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The 7-foot-high figure, mounted on a 5-foot pink granite pedestal, was dedicated in 1909 during the centennial anniversary of Lincoln's birth. The color of the statue has changed since its 'rebronzing' in 1985 to its original warm-brown lustre.

The Lincoln Museum is located nearby; details of the Lincoln Trail Driving Tour are available here, in addition to exhibits and art focusing on this great historic figure.
