Fontainebleu State Park

The beauty and spaciousness of this park is outstanding! Situated on the north shore of Lake Pontchairtrain, this 2,809-acre park has been an oasis for locals for 50 years. The entry drive, with its stately live oaks, brings you past the ruins of a sugar mill, historic plantation and brickyard, and takes the visitor from the world of work to a place of rest and relaxation. The park offers 126 improved campsites, group camp, swimming pool, public area and playground.

Bordered on three sides by Lake Pontchairtrain, Bayou Cane and Bayou Castine, the site includes habitats of both wetlands and woods. Located in the Mississippi Flyway, the park trails offer outstanding bird watching.
