The Southeastern, or Greater New Orleans Region of Louisiana, offers much to see and do. In the French Quarter, the Old U.S. Mint can be toured, as can the Gallier House and the Hermann-Grima House. There's always entertainment on Bourbon Street, and antique shoppers will enjoy Royal and Cartres streets. Other attractions include the Aquarium of the Americas, Napoleon House, and the wax museum.
Outside the French Quarter you can tour the Louisiana Superdome (home of the New Orleans Saints), shop the Warehouse District for art, see the unique and opulent homes of the Uptown area and the Garden District, visit Audobon Park and Zoo, or tour Mardi Gras World for a close-up look at the elaborate costumes and famous floats.
