The commune of Mondorf-les-Bains, population 3,639, is located 10 kilometers southeast of Luxembourg City. on Luxembourgs border with France. Les Bains translates as the Baths, as this spa town is noted for its hot springs. The two springs are the Kind, bored in 1846, and the Marie-Adelaide, bored in 1913; They are popular among those seeking relief for rhematism, as well as liver and intestinal complaints. The Kind is located in the midst of a 36 hectare nature park.

St Michels Church is a local landmark, with an interior decked out with trompe-loeil murals and decorative furniture, and a pink-pebble-flecked exterior. Mondorf-les-Bains is also known for its casino, and for having served as an interrogation center for Nazi war criminals in the aftermath of WWII.
