SuAsCo River System

Search Concord Massachusetts

The Concord River is part of the 29-mile tri-river system called SuAsCo, an acronym for the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Rivers, which join less than a mile W of the city of Concord, northwest of Boston. SuAsCo was one of the first designated as part of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Bill signed by President Clinton in 1999. The rivers flow through small towns and suburbs in a region rich in historic and archaeological sites. Along the river corridor there are American Indian sites over 1000 years old. The opening shots of the American Revolution were shot over the Concord Rivers North Bridge, now protected as a part of Minuteman National Historic Park.
