Located on Friend St., this was the 1836-92 home of the abolitionist and author. Whittier's works included "Snow Bound" and "The Barefoot Boy". The house remains almost unchanged and contains orginal furnishings, portraits, engravings, manuscripts and a large portion of Whittier's library.

Open Tuesday - Saturday 10am-4pm, May through October. Open by appointment the rest of the year. Closed July 4, Thanksgiving and December 25.
