October Mountain State Forest

The largest state forest in Massachusetts, October Mountain offers 46 campsites and has many lakes and ponds. Horses and motorized vehicles share the use of some paths, while hiking routes such as the Appalachian Trail are off-limits to mountain bikers. Take Massachusetts Pike to exit 2, Rte. 20 west, take right on Center St., and follow signs.
