The Boston Public Library has a collection of approximately 6,700,000 volumes.

Permanent exhibits including the mural paintings of Edwin Austin Abbey's "The Quest for the Holy Grail", John Singer Sargent's, "Judaism and Christianity" and the works of other American artists and sculptors.

The library hosts many revolving exhibits throughout the year and also features an extensive collection of rare books and manuscripts.
