Cecil's Old Mill

Search Lexington Park Maryland

This is the last watermill in St. Mary's county, built in 1810 as a textile mill. The soil proved unsuitable for growing cotton, so the mill was subsequently used as both a grist mill, and a saw mill, which ceased operation in 1951. Inside are a grinder, bagger, wheat cleaning machine and scales; outside is restored, operational, sawmill equipment.

Open Thursday-Sunday, March through October.
