Frankfort is in Benzie County, and in the Northern Region. This community is located southwest of Traverse City along Highway 115 near Crystal Lake and the Lake Michigan shoreline. Frankfort has a park and marina that are attractive and well maintained, and the shops are in large numbers. The approach to Frankfort on US 31, which is quite elevated, is spectacular.
