The complex, encompassing more than 300 acres, includes a re-created turn-of-the-century rural Midwestern village and a recreation area with nature trails, picnic areas, playgrounds, a beach and a boat launch. The village contains 16 buildings, among them a carpenter shop, blacksmith shop, schoolhouse, print shop, general store, hardware store, church, town hall and residences. Some are reconstructed and some are original.
