St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital is a 262-bed state-of-the-art community hospital with a heritage of providing quality health care spanning more than 150 years. The hospital is located on Detroit?s east riverfront.
Although St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital (SJDRH) opened in 1987, its roots run deep. SJDRH has the unique distinction of being the city?s oldest hospital, formed through the merging of historic Detroit Memorial Hospital (the first hospital in the city), Alexander Blain Memorial Hospital and Jennings Memorial Hospital. In 1992, DRH purchased Detroit Osteopathic Hospital (DOH) located in Highland Park and consolidated its operations into DRH.
