Founded in 1899, this is a public institution offering undergraduate programs in the arts and sciences, business, education, health science, human services, nursing, and technology. There are 5 undergraduate schools and 1 graduate school. The 320 acre campus is in an urban area 300 miles north of Milwaukee on the southern shores of Lake Superior. Including residence halls, there are 50 buildings.
Fraternities, sororities and over 200 clubs and organizations are on campus. Tours of the campus can be arranged through the admission office.
