Taylor is located in Wayne County just southwest of Detroit between Lincoln Park and Ypsilanti along Interstate 94 on the banks of the Detroit River near the United States/Ontario border. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 72,551, an increase of 1,740 since 1990. Taylor is part of the Detroit, Michigan metro area.
