Sugarloaf, Green Lake and Big Portage Lake are the three campgrounds located in this 20,000 acre recreation area. Sugarloaf is the 'summer only' camp area with 180 modern sites; winter camping with electricity is available at Big Portage Lake's sites, and 25 rustic camsites are available at Green Lake from June to December.

There are many miles of foot trails and also trails for the equestrian throughout the area.

16 different lakes provide many options for those interested in pursuing the many fish species available.
