West Bloomfield is located in Oakland County, off of Poniac Tri Rd, just south of Orchard Lake and Upper Straits Lake (is part of the Detroit, Michigan metropolitan area). This community is also located north of Farmington Hills.
West Bloomfield Township was created by an Act of the Legislative Council on April 22, 1833. It has a land area of 31.16 square miles or almost 20,000 acres.
Today, West Bloomfield is home to an extensive collection of malls, shopping centers and marketplaces ranging from the small village malls and popular local downtown shopping districts, to the multiple floor regional malls found in most other major cities, with upscale restaurants and premiere anchor stores. Lakes, parks, shopping, sports, cultural activities, education, medical care, and safe neighborhoods, make this community an excellent place to visit.
