Grand Mound Historic Site

The largest Indian burial mound in the Upper Midwest, Grand Mound features a self-guided trail leading visitors through the old-growth forest to the site where these ancient people camped and brought their dead 2,000 years ago. The on-site Grand Mound History Center includes exhibits, a gift shop, hands-on programs, and audio-visual programs that tell the story of those who built the mound on the banks of the Rainy River.
