The backdrop for the Voyageur Winter Festival is the snow sculpture symposium, featuring carvings by local, state, and international artists. More than 45 professional artists and some fifty amateurs will gather in Ely, Minnesota to take part in the gala Snow Sculpture Symposium and Amateur Snow Sculpture Contest during the festival.
