The former Lake Minnetonka estate of Frederick Noerenberg, donated by the family to the Park District, is a reminder of the quiet elegance and grace of days gone by. The park's formal flower gardens, designed and maintained by master and professional gardeners, are open May 1 through mid-October for tours, programs, informal viewing and weddings. The gardens include a wide variety of unusual annuals and perennials, an assortment of grasses and a large collection of daylilies. Accessible brick pathways and an ornamental boathouse/gazebo overlooking Lake Minnetonka, and providing excellent scenic views, are some of the park's unique features. The terms of the land donation prohibit picnics and water-based activities within the park; please observe these rules when visiting. Wedding parties are welcome, call for information and reservations.
