The house band here plays country and gospel music every Saturday night and includes appearances by one or more special guests. Walk-ins are welcome, performances year-round. Admission is free to the public, donations are accepted.

The name comes from the two prominent interstates, I-80 and I-35, that meet at the corner of Des Moines. The festival includes a stage for national touring bands and several smaller stages featuring regional and local supporting acts. Heart of America Shakespeare Festival Kansas City MO June18-July7 The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival is set under the stars in South Moreland Park near Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. It is a perfect way to spend a summer evening with family and friends. They have several programs to study and explore such as Speaker's Bureau and Poster and Sonnet Contest. The faculty includes theatre professionals, actors, and educators experienced in performing and teaching Shakespeare. Many of the instructors are veterans of festival productions.
Promise Land Music Festival Ottumwa IA July12-13 Music Festival dedicated to bringing Fun, Affordable, Positive Entertainment to Southeast Iowa while introducing talented musicians to Southeast Iowa. Italian-American Heritage Festival of Iowa Des Moines IA July26-27 The 2013 Festival Best Sauce contest will be held on Saturday. The 2013 Festival Queen contest is open to young ladies of Italian descent, residing in Iowa, who are between 17 and 23 years of age. Oskaloosa Sweet Corn Serenade Oskaloosa IA August1 This family festival features good food, numerous children's activities sponsored by area civic organizations, a wide variety of musical entertainers and a large craft show. Delicious sweet corn fresh cooked for only 25¢, Pork burgers, pie and ice cream are available for a small charge. This event also features pedal tractor pull, a pie baking contest, and a corn shucking contest just to name a few. This event alone typically brings over 5,000 patrons to downtown Oskaloosa.
