This covered bridge is the only surviving example of the Burr-arch truss system in Missouri. The bridge was built in 1871 to span the Elk Fork of the Salt River and served travelers on the Paris-Fayette Road through Monroe County for 99 years. Located five miles west of Paris on Hwy 24, four miles south on Hwy C, then west 1/4 mile on a county road.
