Located on Hwy 552, this working plantation features a handsome 14-room Greek Revival-style mansion on 100 acres with an adjoining Christmas tree plantation. The mansion is the only surviving building designed and built by David Schroder, the architect of Windsor. Rosswood, built in 1857, has been completely restored and furnished with outstanding antiques and unusual collections of items from around the world.
Mansion tours are offered, as well as Bed and Breakfast accomodations. A Mississippi Landmark, Rosswood is open daily March through October only. Guests enjoy relaxing and watching deer from the spacious top gallery, and a full plantation breakfast served on fine china, linen and silver in the main dining room. They receive a guided tour of the home and slave quarters and they are welcome to use the swimming pool and spa (jacuzzi). There is a stocked lake on the estate and some nature trails through the forests (and a metal detector if they would like to search for the buried treasure). Children are welcome
