This park marks the site of the 1855 council between Isaac Stevens and the Flathead, Kootenai and Pend d'Oreille Indians, at which the Indians signed the Hellgae Treaty and relinquished their ancestral hunting grounds in exchange for a reservation in the Mission Valley. The park has 87 acres and is designated "primitive," so there are no fees for visiting. Picnic facilities are provided.
To reach the park, take Reserve Street Exit in Missoula, travel 2 miles south on Reserve Street and then 10 miles west on Mullan Road.
