Libby

The seat of Lincoln County, Libby is located in 32 miles from the Idaho state line in extreme northwest Montana between Troy and Happy's Inn on US 2 on the banks of the Kootenai River. Deep in the timberlands of northwestern Montana, this logging community offers the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness, the Kootenai National Forest, Kootenai River and Kootenai Falls.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 2,675, an increase of 143 since 1990.
