Historic Ninemile Remount & Ranger Stn

At this historic ranger station, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's, horses and mules were raised and trained to carry men and supplies to fight forest fires. Today, it's still a working ranch. Exhibits in the visitor center illustrate the story, and there's an interpretive brochure that will guide you on a tour of this historic site. About seven miles northwest of the station is the Kreis Pond area.
