Search Loeto

Located mid-way up the peninsula, Loeto is famous for it's missions that were built in the 1600s by the Jesuits. Loreto was also the first capital of the Californias. The town has taken the slogan "300 Years Old and Still Undisovered!" and features a shaded downtown plaza with an attractive malecon (boardwalk) that brings the locals and the tourist together. Located nearby are several extraodiary islands, such as Isla Cordano, where you can snorkel in the crystalline waters and sun bathe on the beaches of white sand. For those that enjoy the outdoors, you will find more than enough to do. Fishing, diving, sailing, and viewing wildlife are just some of the activites offered. In about 20 minutes you can be at one of five islands enjoying snorkeling, swimming, hiking and beach combing.
