Bennett Place State Historic Site

The site includes the restored Bennett House where the Civil War ended April 26, 1865. A surrender re-encactment is held in April. Exhibits about North Carolina's contributions to the Civil War are displayed at the visitor center as well as uniforms, flags, guns and photographs. Guided tours are offered, and an audiovisual presentation is shown by request. Picnic facilities are available. Visitor center open Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 1-5pm, April-October; Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday 1-4pm, the rest of the year. Free to the public.
