Founded in 1946, UNC Charlotte now has about 18,000 - 19,000 Students.

In 1961 Charlotte College moved into two new buildings on what was to become a 1,000-acre campus 10 miles from downtown Charlotte.
Three years later, the North Carolina legislature approved bills making Charlotte College a four-year, state-supported college.
A year later, the legislature approved bills making Charlotte College a branch of The University of North Carolina.
UNC Charlotte boasts more than 60,000 living alumni and adds 3,000 to 3,500 new alumni each year.

Business administration, psychology, engineering, architecture, and health and human services are just a few of the popular majors.
