The site is located in the northwestern part of the state in Divide County about 50 miles north of Williston and 12 miles northeast of Grenora.

Discovered by Gen. Alfred Sully in 1864 and protected today by an enclosed shelter, the site is marked by two large boulders bearing several Native American petroglyphs.
