Enderlin is located in southeastern North Dakota in Ransom County on the banks of the Maple River 45 miles southwest of Fargo and 40 miles west of the Red River of the North. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 943, a decrease of 54 since 1990.

Nearby recreational outlets include Fort Ransom State Park located about 15 miles southwest of town. In addition, Ft. Ransom State Historic Site makes a nice day trip for history buffs.

Built in 1957, Enderlin Golf Course offers 3,150 yards of challenge to the avid and casual golfer alike. The 9-hole layout shoots to a par of 36.
