Blair is located in Washington County (of which it is the county seat) on Hwy 75 just north of Omaha between Herman and Fort Calhoun near Fort Akinson State Historic Park, Missouri River and the DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge.

Blair is the home of Dana College and is part of the Omaha, Nebraska-Iowa metro area.

This community is still a small town, with manufacturing and construction trades being the economies main staple.
