Crofton is located in Knox County, situated in northeastern Nebraska on Hwy 12, just south of the Missouri River and the South Dakota state line, near Lewis & Clark Lake, and Lewis & Clark State Recreation Area are nearby.
The town of Crofton was platted in the summer of 1892.
