Grant is located in Perkins County (of which it is the county seat), south of Ogallala on Hwy 61, between Madrid and the Colorado boarder on Hwy 23.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,202, a decrease of 37 since 1990.

Grant has plenty of outdoor recreation available. Bird and deer hunting, fishing, boating, hiking and camping are excellent throughout the surrounding area.
