Panhandle Region

The northern portion of the Panhandle Region of Nebraska offers challenging hiking terrain, Old West museums and other attractions for history buffs. This area also contains fossil beds, geological strata, and archaeological finds for those interested in prehistoric eras.

The spectacular terrain in the southern part of the region is home to the Oregon and Mormon trails which were traveled by the pioneers, and to the North Platte River, which provides irrigation for lush croplands nearby.

Newly done.
