Located 3 miles west off I-25 exit 276, follow signs to 334 Los Pinos Rd. This living history museum, whose name means "The Ranch of the Swallows" was once a stopping place on El Camino Real (The royal road) from Mexico City to Old Santa Fe
. Exhibits depict Spanish colonial life in New Mexico. Restored buildings furnished in the period, include an 18th-century placta
house with a defensive tower as well as a mill, smithy, schoolhouse and a church. A steep, rocky 1.5 mile path leads to the buildings.
